About 700 athletes from 33 European countries will compete from Thursday until Sunday in Italy and fight for the Junior and U23 European Champion titles. Entries lists include athletes who already have experience and medals from Senior World and European Championships as well as 2016 Olympians, among them the strongest Italian favourite for a medal - canoeist Carlo Tacchini. There will be also athletes who competed at the 2018 Mediterranean Games in Tarragona past weekend on the start line in Auronzo.
The competition part of the championships will be organised over four days. On Thursday heats in 1000 and 500 metres events are scheduled. On Friday we will follow 1000 and 500 metres semifinals and 200 metres heats. The first medals will be awarded on Saturday when finals in 1000 metres will take place. On Saturday there will also be organised 200 metres semifinals. On Sunday the championships will conclude with 500 and 200 metres finals.
